Curation is a vital function of archives, libraries, and museums, and exhibitions present unique opportunities to reach out to regular visitors and new potential audiences. Virtual exhibits enable hosting institutions to reach wider audiences using the Web to access digital content. Toledo's Attic presents an extension of these practices by the Canaday Center and other Toledo's Attic partners, and we also invite schools to submit newsletters, photographs, and essays on local history. As the Toledo's Attic projects evolves, we will invite students, faculty, and local scholars interested in digital humanities and history to participate in future projects.

Virtual exhibitions

Since opening in 1979, the Ward M. Canaday Center has organized annual exhibitions to promote scholarship around local history and cultural heritage. The virtual exhibitions created between 2000 and 2018 are digital versions that ensure continued access to the exhibition catalog and the items on display. The exhibition catalogs have been digitized and are available for download in PDF form.
