The Bellevue Historical Society is dedicated to preserving items relating to the growth and development of Bellevue in order to promote interest in Bellevue’s rich history. Presently, the Society is renovating the historic Tremont House, built in 1846, which will serve as a museum dedicated to Bellevue’s history. Work is ongoing, so the museum is not yet open for viewing but will hopefully be completed by 2025. The Tremont House is located at 101 East Main Street, Bellevue.

Huron County Community Library offers services, programs and collections benefiting all ages, including books, ebooks, DVDs, computers, WiFi, faxing, copying, laminating, help with e-readers/tablets, Golden Buckeye card applications, voter registrations and absentee ballot applications. When it opened, the main library, dedicated to the memory of servicemen and those who died in WWI, was housed on the second floor of the Willard City Hall. In the 1930s the Ohio General Assembly passed legislation which established the Willard Memorial Library as a school district library. It was given county extension status in 1935 to service any area of the county not already served by a library. The present library building opened April 4, 1965. The addition to the original building was dedicated April 2, 1995. A bond levy passed in 2014, and renovations began in 2015 to update and redesign the Willard Memorial Library.

The New London Area Historical Society operates a store-front museum in downtown New London which offers two floors of displays on the southeastern corner of the Firelands. We emphasize local businesses, schools, railroads (NYC, ACY), industries (CE Ward Co., Ohio Body), and early families. Our library contains local newspapers, histories, scrapbooks, diaries, and village records.
