The Lake Erie Islands Historical Society Museum has exhibits on island history, the wine making industry, Put-in-Bay's Victorian hotels, the ice industry, the island road races, The Ford Tri-Motor "Tin Goose" airplane, and a collection of historic souvenirs.

For more than 150 years, Lakeside Chautauqua has welcomed families to the Lake Erie shore to take part in a summer Chautauqua experience dedicated to nurturing mind, body and spirit. Lakeside Chautauqua is an historic community in Ohio offering an abundance of spiritual opportunities, educational lectures, cultural arts performances and recreational activities during its 14-week summer programming season. It is also a year-round destination for groups of all sizes.

Lakeside Heritage Society (LHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and advancing the history of Lakeside, the Marblehead Peninsula and the Chautauqua Movement in America. The LHS Archives’ manuscript, photograph, and library collections are open to the public for personal and academic research. Located in Lakeside’s original Methodist Episcopal Chapel built in 1875, the Heritage Hall Museum features a variety of local history exhibits. Scavenger hunts are also available for children of all ages.

Hours: Summer season docent-led tours of house by the Ottawa County Historical Society with museum and gift shop open during the summer. Visit the Society’s website for summer season hours. Group tours by appointment.

Home of Benajah and Rachel Wolcott, first keepers of the Marblehead Lighthouse. This is the oldest surviving home in Ottawa County. Built in 1822 of limestone from local quarries, it was the permanent home of the first three lighthouse keepers for the Marblehead Lighthouse.

“Preserving our Past for Future Generations.” The Ottawa County Museum, showcases the history of Ottawa County. It was established in 1979 by the Port Clinton Area Heritage Foundation to preserve and collect records and artifacts pertinent to the development of Ottawa County, to provide educational information and to create a lasting memory for future generations to study. This small museum features displays about the area. Hours are limited, so please call first.

This 17-acre garden estate features an amazing collection of rare trees, unusual plants, themed gardens, more than 24 outdoor sculptures and impeccably manicured grounds. The 1881 manor house is home to the Blair Museum of Lithophanes, the largest collection in the world. These 19th century three- dimensional, translucent porcelain treasures reveal detailed images when backlit (exhibit rotates annually.) Indoor art exhibits are featured in the Brown Welcome Center & rotate throughout the season.
