The History Center, a former bank building located on the square in downtown Mount Gilead, is one of 3 buildings operated by the Morrow County Historical Society and houses our main collection, which includes a cannon, pottery display of items produced in the county prior to 1941, military display, & other rotating exhibits. The Cross House (open to the public during special events), constructed in 1829, is the last of 5 framed structures built in the village. The Garverick Log House, built prior to 1850 and originally located in the northern part of the county, is open for Farm Days and the Morrow County Fair. In the mid-1980s, it was tagged, disassembled, transported and reassembled at the Morrow County Fairgrounds with furnishings reflecting the mid-1800s.
